The other day I got a request for a simple template for a weekly NFL office pool. After a few more clarifying questions, here's the scenario:
The requester is the organizer for a weekly NFL football office pool. Each person picks the winner of each of the 16 games each week during the regular season -- no scores, no picking against "the line", etc. -- just a straight up pick, and for each correct pick, that person gets a point. The person who has the most correct picks at the end of the week wins. In the event of a tie, each person also predicts the total combined points scored in the Monday night game. Whomever is closest wins.
I whipped together a quick template that can either be printed and used manually or filled out in Excel as actual results come in, automatically calculated scores and tie-breakers, if necessary. I thought it was decent, so I thought I'd share it -- with everyone, not just Excel_Geek Insiders (though, Insiders, I'll be emailing your copy to you personally, and everyone else has to download it on their own.)

Great spreadsheet any thoughts on a season template to track season statistics.
What sort of stats are you envisioning?
I have been doing a pool for about 5 years now alwayus using ecel but with no formulas for it
I want the to do the same thing but tally it against the spread or atleast make a formula that could hilite boxes and count the hilite boxes is that possible?
Anything's possible. Shoot me an email (ehunzeker at gmail dot com) with your spreadsheet and give me an idea what you're after and I can take a look at it.
I run a pool in excel and it is similar except that the picks are weighted, e.g., in a 16-game week, you pick the winners, then allocate 16 to the pick about which you are most certain, 15 to the next most certain, 14 to the next, etc., down to 1. If you picked the correct winner, you get the points you allocated. Entries are done on html forms (written out by Excel), results tabulated automatically, display order sorted by score, seasonal totals maintained, automatic email reminders sent, etc. Unfortunately, it's not all that friendly, but this is an application where there are lots of possibilities.
Got a good version of this for the Super Bowl? I can do wonderful graphics if you can do the spreadsheet logic part of it. :-)
I made a decent confidence pool spreadsheet but it has a minimal amount of formulas. I'd like to add formulas as well as SUMIF based off color coding. Any ideas?
Did anyone ever get there hands on a excel spreadsheet for NFL Picks pool (confidence points)?
Very nice and thank you Excel-Geek. I just can't figure out how to put the person name in. Says its protected.
Bob Foster, just Unprotect the worksheet. Or....wait a couple days and I'll have this year's template out.
You F-in Rock...just saved me a bunch of time!
I love this spread sheet, but when I print it it's not printing the info I've entered in the home and visitors section and no lines for the columns.
thanks B
Can you add a sheet to reference points? Each week we put points on a team, from 1-16. The spreadsheet you have here is great, but I can't figure out how to integrate the points into it.
Are you still doing sheets for football, I've run into a snag an can not figure out on excel?
Check out my latest post.
How am I able to change the color of the block from red to none after inputting peoples picks?

@Gustavo Ayala, you'll have to give me a bit more context to your question. 1) are you using the sheet that I posted for this season or the one from back in 2009, which is the post on which you've commented. Feel free to email me directly using my first initial (my first name is Eric) and last name -- Hunzeker -- at my gmail email address.
