Okay folks...it's ready. Well...sort of.
We won't know whether or not it's Army or UCLA vs. Temple in the EagleBank Bowl until Army plays Navy on December 12th. Army has to win that game to become bowl eligible. My money's on Navy, so I'm guessing we'll see UCLA. Whenever we know, you'll have to make that last change for yourself.
Here are the files:
- Click here for the corrected main file.
Note: I just found out that I had a problem with this file. It wouldn't let you select the winner of each game in the "WINNER" column. I've since corrected this and this download now works. If you've already got all your data in the file you previously downloaded don't worry, the fix is simple. Go to Tools --> Protection --> Unprotect Sheet... Then select all of the cells where you determine the winner in the "WINNER" column and go to Format --> Cells... --> Protection tab, and uncheck the "Locked" option. Then go back to Tools --> Protection --> Protect Sheet... and click OK without setting a password. - Click here for a simply entry form you can pass around to other to make their picks.
Let me know if you have questions. Also, please pass along any great improvements you make. Remember, last year Jonathan chipped in some nice new features.

Wow! What awesome spreadsheets!
I tried opening the "Main" file in Google and it hung. The "Form" file opened just fine. Any ideas?
i dunno. no one else has had trouble. It's a far larger file, though -- over 2MB. keep trying...? try opening it on another machine, maybe?
I am a novice! What does the Points Column mean?
Points is what you're willing to wager on your pick. You select 1-34 depending on how confident you are in your pick.
how do you set up that winners column that when you put the correct tally in it automatically checks off the people who got it right? I'm using your sheet for a pool im doing that just is straight one point per correct answer not points wagered per pick. Thanks!
Joshua, simply put a "1" for the points for all games. Should work fine. There's some conditional formatting to highlight if you'd selected the same amount of points for two or more games that will kick in, but otherwise, it'll do what you want.
I am running a pool with about 40 contestants. Is there a way to copy/paste from their entries? When I do it - and then try and plug in the winner I am not getting the red or green results. Thanks - Great sheet!
Preston,
If you're trying to copy-paste picks from the pick sheets into the main sheet, use Copy --> Paste Special... Values to get them in there without affecting formatting.
with out a doubt, the best and only website for cool spreadsheets! Scott
